Cross-Country Data Grid
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, Vanderbilt, Rutgers and Brown universities are collaborating to establish a transcontinental cognitive science data grid. Shared collections are being assembled from data residing at each participating site. Management policies are enforced on the shared data for IRB access policies, data integrity, and data distribution. The data grid is based on the iRODS - integrated Rule-Oriented Data System. The initial nodes on the system provide storage resources varying from 7 TBs to 11 TBs in size. The data grid will be operational by April, 2008. The research is funded by NSF.
