TDLC and the Reach for Tomorrow Program

TDLC, in partnership with the Reach for Tomorrow program, helps bring 50-75 at-risk middle and high school students from around the country to UC San Diego for one week every summer, where the students participate in activities that are designed to inspire them to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The students visit TDLC's labs, where they are exposed to a variety of research areas through hands-on experiences and candid conversations with our scientists, who often share their own inspirational stories of the challenges they had to overcome to achieve academic success. Some of the TDLC labs that participated include: Machine Perception Lab, Alex Khalil (Gamelan), Poizner lab (Motion Capture), Neuroscience Outreach Program, and the Preuss School robotics club.
